Note to Student #6: You Were Not Born to be Mediocre.

Student,

Don’t be like most of us. Most of us give up on our dreams. Most of us learn to accept defeat without putting up much of a fight. Most of us are cool with being average.

Dont be like us.

You are not here to be average. You are not here to merely survive. Student, you were not brought into this world to be mediocre.

You are here to achieve greatness.

Get to work. We need you to do the work that you were put on this planet to do. We need you to become who you are meant to become.

Pride vs. Purpose

Humility– the understanding that the world does not revolve around me. The capacity to be humble and modest.

Pride comes before the fall.

As we continue to work hard, success will follow. Therefore, we must always remember that our work ethic and the grace of God, is the source of our harvest.

Our “self” is meaningless.

Remain focused on the purpose!

Remain focused on the work!

Practice and perfect your humility and keep your eyes on the most high.

“Work Smarter not Harder” = Bad Advice!

I despise the quote “Work Smarter not Harder.”

I’m shocked that many people believe that hard work is not absolutely necessary.

I’m shocked that many people believe that they can achieve success without consistent work and sacrifice.

I’m shocked that many people believe they can “out think” the laws of success by simply “working smarter.”

There is no shortcut.

If success is the goal, hard work is a major part of the process. We must commit to working extremely hard – over a long period of time.

Working smart is important too. I too believe that we must make intelligent decisions with our time and energy. Strategy and efficiency is vital!

However, intelligence does not replace work ethic, for we must commit to both! In fact, the quote should read “Work Smarter AND Work Harder.” Hmmm, I like the sound of that… Work Smarter AND Work Harder!

Do We Deserve to Dream Big?!

If we have the audacity to dream big dreams and expect any of it to come true – we must be willing to outwork everyone around us. We must also be willing to sacrifice almost all of our free time.

Be honest with yourself. Are you cool with working 12, 14, 16, 18 hour days? Are you cool with sacrificing time with friends, family, Netflix, social media, etc.?

The truth is, if we are not willing to work extremely hard and make extreme sacrifices, we don’t deserve to dream big (and expect any of it to come true).

The Bridge

There is a map.

And on this map are two points: Point A and Point B.

In between Point A and Point B, is a wide and treacherous river. This river is filled with alligators, crocodiles, snakes, piranhas, robbers, killers, thieves, drug dealers, triflin men, triflin women, fast men and fast women.

It’s our job and God given responsibility to cross this river!

We have to get from where we are right now – which is Point A, to where we are destined to reside – which is Point B!

But here’s the million dollar question:

How do we get from Point A to Point B, and how do we cross this river without falling prey to the predators that feed within it?

Answer: We need a bridge. And that bridge is referred to as self-discipline.

I challenge us all to start building our bridge today!

CONSISTENTEM

The word consistency originates from the Latin word consistentem, meaning “a state of being in harmony.”

A consistent and disciplined routine brings peace. Peace at work and within our business. Peace at home. Peace with our children. Peace within our relationships. Peace within.

Consistency is defined as steadfast adherence to the same principles. Consistency should be a major goal in all of our lives.

Consistentem. Be consistent.
